| International Beer Tasting Garden
Sample hard to find, newly discovered, or unique beers from various breweries and surrounding stations. It's a beer-tasting extravaganza. Beer experts will also be on hand. Stop by other stations to learn about beers and discover the art of beer tasting. Smell the hops, sip and savor, and taste some more!
How it works:Participants will purchase separate tickets designed to help respect alcohol consumption regulations and responsibilities and given a tasting glass (2 oz tasting). Coin values are designated base on types of beers (ex. Premium), price points, or combinations determined by presenter. Breweries
Carolina Brewery
Chapel Hill and Pittsboro,NC The BrewsSky Blue Golden Ale: For those desiring a lighter beer that still has hand-crafted integrity, this beer is a Kolsch style ale made famous in its namesake city of Cologne (Koln in German). This thirst-quenching brew is spritzy, not too malty with the pleasing aroma of imported Hallertauer hops. While fermented warm like all ales, Kolsch beer undergoes a cold aging period like a lager which results in a brew that is complex yet easy to drink. SILVER MEDAL - WORLD BEER CHAMPIONSHIPS SILVER MEDAL - CAROLINAS CHAMPIONSHIP OF BEERS 2008 Copperline Amber Ale: This brilliant red ale, brewed with caramel and pale malts is a best seller at the Carolina Brewery. Using traditional brewing methods, the ale yeast provides a touch of fruit and works in tandem with the malt to make for a very drinkable ale. Kent Golding hops lend just enough bitterness and aroma to round out the flavor. GOLD MEDAL - WORLD BEER CHAMPIONSHIPS BRONZE MEDAL - CAROLINAS CHAMPIONSHIP OF BEERS 2008 Flagship India Pale Ale: Originally, this intensely hopped ale was brewed in the 18th century to survive the long sea journey from the cooler breweries in England, around the Cape of Africa to India where the temperatures were too warm to brew. This beer has a unique floral aroma from the generous addition of Cascade hops to the fermenter in a procedure known as dry hopping. AwardsGOLD MEDAL - GREAT AMERICAN BEER FESTIVAL 2006 GOLD MEDAL - CAROLINAS CHAMPIONSHIP OF BEERS 2008 Carolina Brewing Company
Holly Springs, NC The BrewsCarolina Pale Ale A classic American style pale ale with a medium body and pleasing hop characteristics. Brewed with pale and crystal malts as well as Nugget, Willamette and Goldings hops. It is golden in color and has 5.1% alcohol by volume Carolina Nut Brown Ale Carolina Nut Brown Ale is a medium bodied, dark brown ale with a complex chocolatey, toasted malt taste. It's dry finish that makes it distinct from some of the sweeter brown ales. We use five different types of malted barley to give the beer its color and variety of malt flavors. It is 4.9% alcohol by volume. Carolina IPA Carolina IPA is brewed with pale, caramel and cara-pils malts and is vigorously finished with Cascade and Crystal hops. It has a golden color, a slight citrus taste and a crisp finish. 5.4% abv. The BrewsPilot Mountain Pale Ale: A classic American style pale ale with Munich and a variety of crystal malts. Cascade, Perle, and Cenntennial hops round out the hop profile, and Cascade whole hops are added to the mash for additional hop aroma. ABV: 4.75% Torch Pilsner: A well-structured, Czech style pilsner. Torch is strong in alcohol with a rich, full finish. Good mouth feel and well balanced Czech Saaz hops ensure that Torch is not your typical pilsner. ABV: 5.3% Hurricane Hefeweizen: A German-style unfiltered wheat beer. Cloudy gold in appearance with a rocky white head. Notes of ripe banana, clove, vanilla, and bubblegum in the nose. ABV: 5.2% Harris, Durham,NC
